Hello one last time, fellow metalheads!

The voting for the final 2 spots in the Heavy Metal Hall of Fame is over. The last 2 acts to make the cut are Celtic Frost and Twisted Sister.

Thanks to all for voting. It was a nice experiement! Nothing too scientific, but it gave an idea of who the metal community feels is diserving of the honour.

Hello Metalheads,

We've already reached the last poll for the Heavy Metal Hall of Fame. Last month was also a bit slow as we only had 90 votes, but Cannibal Corpse, Sodom and Ozzy Osbourne made their way into the hall. So we now need 2 more bands to complete the list of inductees! From the suggestions, Fates Warning, Twisted Sister, Celtic Frost and Trouble have been added to the list.

Sure, there are well diserving bands that won't make their way in, or were just not nominated! but these types of polls will always be controversial. A hall divided by genre would have been a good idea too, but there would also have been debates as to how to classify it all. In the end, 25 bands just don't represent what ALL metal is about, but it shows who the fans think have been more influential, have a time-tested legacy, and should be honoured for it.

Hello again, fellow metalheads!
Or should I say blackmetalheads? As you have now voted Carcass, Emperor and Immortal into the Hall of Fame. So there are just 5 spots left, and more than enough diserving bands to fill them. There were only 100 votes, but surprisingly, almost every band met the 5% minimum to stay on the ballot, so there will be just 3 new nominees. Savatage will be out next time.
So, to better represent different genres, I've decided to add, among your suggestions, Sepultura, Metal Church and Angel Witch.
Keep suggesting bands you think should be on the LAST ballot!

Things are getting interesting! The newest members of the Hall of Fame are Darkthrone, Manowar and Mayhem. This brings the total to 17 inductees, so only 8 spots remain to be filled!
Most of the nominees managed to get their 5% of votes to stay on the ballot, so you can still help them make their way in. Only Testament has to be removed from the list. The newest nominees are Cannibal Corpse, Carcass, Accept and Immortal.
I'm also keeping in reserve every suggestion that has been made for the last 2 months for the next polls, but feel free to push for who you think is worthy of making it on the next ballot. Remember that after this one, only May and June are left to fill the Hall of Fame. There are still a lot of diserving bands!

Another month, another poll!

Hi again metal lovers!
February voting started great, but ended with a lot les votes than the first 2 months! The novelty effect has worn off, I guess. But it doesn't mean we're through here! we've still got 11 spots to fill in the Hall of Fame, and the results keep getting tighter!

The 3 new inductees that made their way in are Dio, Kreator and Candlemass.
Manowar, Mayhem and Pantera are still safe 'cos they got more than 5% of the votes. Diamond Head is off the poll. Still there, but on their last chance, are Ozzy, Testament and Exodus.
New nominees are Darkthrone, Sodom, Emperor and Savatage.

I will keep the list of suggestions from february and the new ones you may all have for the next one. So keep pushing the bands you feel diserve a place, they'll eventually make their way on the ballot.

Starting this month, I'm taking off the nominees that didn't get at least 5% of the votes for 2 polls in a row. So this means that Voivod, Helloween and Anthrax are off the ballot for now. But they can be brought back if enough people suggest they'd be on the next poll! Diamond Head also failed to get 5%, but it was their first appearance. Kreator, Mayhem and Pantera are safe!

This time, since I didn't have as many suggestions for the new poll as last time, I've used the results from both surveys. I had to add 6 names, so I took all the bands/artists that got 3 or more mentions. But Next time, I'm starting fresh, so while casting your vote, don't forget to say who should be on the next poll.

What? This is the Ultimate Heavy Metal Hall Of Fame.

How? You vote! You decide who are the most popular, influential, best heavy metal bands to be inducted in this Metal Hall of Fame.

Why? To let YOU decide who is worthy of such an honor. To put an end to all never ending debates on ALL heavy metal forums.

When? Every month a poll will be created. You will be given 10 bands to chose from. You vote for ONE. The 3 most voted metal bands will be inducted. To determine the next poll, we will replace the 3 previous inductees with bands from your suggestions.
